73 620 brake conversion

Type front disc brakes 620 into the search function and begin reading. There are several ways to do this with some bolt on adapters and Nissan parts.

The stock '73 has 4 10" drum brakes that will stop it very well. BUT for this, you have to check and adjust them every three months or so to keep them optimum. Disc brakes are set and forget, simpler, easier to change pads. You would have to drive them pretty hard with a heavy load to enjoy their superior fad resistance to heat than drums.  

 

Look for BEEBANI's brake conversion kit. Mklotz might have something also using 720 spindles calipers and rotors.

Beebani, krecs, and MKlotz all make brake conversion brackets for the trucks.

 

 

Look them up, see what suits your needs and budget.

 

A company called SilverMine sells the complete kit with brackets made by Krecs.

Just throwing it out there. Front clip off a 720 has all the parts and suspension you need for a complete redesign and modernization of the brakes and suspension geometry.

 

I know...it's not easy, but the results are a vast improvement over stock 320,521, 620.

i just bought new inner and outer wheel bearings from timken.Can someone tell me how to adjust them right?! by the way my 620 is the only one in germany on the road and i just want to keep him there!

did my Timken wheel bearing installed today...no problem with adjusting so far!15 years ago i was learning at Audi/Volkswagen service station and we adjusted the wheel bearing clearence the way that the plain washer should go smoothly through the grease :thumbup:
