superbee
After pulling apart the l20b I acquired last year and realizing that it was beyond what I wanted to try and fix, my truck project stalled. I've been debating on what to do and even thought of selling the truck. I've been searching for engines for a while and thankfully this week came across a guy near here with an l20b and transmission out of a late 70's Nissan, and said he had a W53 head for it as well. My interest was piqued, and I was not disappointed when I arrived. This is what I ended up with: In addition to the obviously gorgeous rebuilt W53 I also got new Redline Weber Carb, custom header and some other goodies. Christmas in July... 4 Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
Put the head/chain back on head so you can breack the lower crank bolt loose. Othwer whise its going to be a pain unless you make a bar and put it on the flywheel to hold it. olddatsuns.com the tech section 1 Quote Link to comment

DanielC
Just take a piece of 1 by 1 inch or larger angle steel. (end looks like an "L") Drill two holes to match the spacing of two of the pressure plate bolts, but not over the flywheel bolts. 2 Quote Link to comment

Stoffregen Motorsports
I clamp a vise grip onto the flywheel when tightening the flywheel bolts. Simple and effective. That head looks brand new. Nice score. 1 Quote Link to comment
