1974hellarust
I am going to rebuild my l18 and I found this site online that says that have everything anyone heard of them? http://www.cleggengine.com/nissan-1-8l-l18-610-620-710-sohc-8v-73-74-engine-rebuild-kits.html Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
Yes. They are an engine shop local to me. I've used their engine kits without complaint and they are the shop who does all my engine machining. I keep going back to them. I think 4perrev just barely ordered some stuff from them. Hopefully he will post a review. Quote Link to comment
Zeusimo
Never Heard Of Them Before But The Price Isn't Bad Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
That is a good price. Too bad you couldn't order 280zx flat top pistons with the kit for a little upcharge. Or can you? Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
You would have to get the 280zx kit and have 2 left over pistons/rings/rod and main bearings.. Head gasket wouldn't work. And if doing that, go highest oversize on the flattops. I checked they go 0.040" that 1mm so 87mm. Quote Link to comment
1974hellarust
Awesome! Some really good stuff here! I have 2 engines I want to build. The one that's in my truck now and one I just picked up. I was thinking about going all stock for the first one just to figure everything out then build the second one 40 ever. Any suggestions on that? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Stock is going to have at least some cylinder wear. Yes if not excessive you can hone and run softer iron rings, but if you want a new engine have it over bored so the cylinders are perfect and you can run a chrome ring. Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
Call them. They will assemble custom kits for you. While I won't guarantee it, you likely can get your engine kit with those flat tops. Also likely other upgrades like ka24 oil pump or z24 fan clutched water pump. Quote Link to comment

flatcat19
ZX pistons are already oversized from the L18 specs. 86mm vs 85mm. 81-83 280zx NA Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
Sounds like to many cheap parts for that price. Ask where parts made at on package. Hard to order kit till you know what you need. I seen a kit supplier and all parts were from Thailand. So be wary. If all Japanese kit I would be buying a few as spares. The Tsubaki timming kits I havent seen in a while. Quote Link to comment
