racerx
I was wondering since I can't adjust my intake valve anymore can I change the adjusting nut to a thinner one so that I can have more room to adjust my intake valve to specs. Could this also be reason why my compression on that piston is low as compared to the other ones? Quote Link to comment
Draker
That could be a reason, yes. Quote Link to comment
KoHeartsGPA
Brass seats maybe? 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Just grind the nut down. But eventually you will need a valve job or another head. Compression? Just for fun... 510? Stock intake valve is 1.3" and compression on an L16 is 8.58 If the valve sank 0.10" 1/10th inch or say 2.5mm this would increase the combustion chamber by 2.13cc and would decrease the compression to 8.2... so, yeah that is significant. 1 Quote Link to comment
Cheetahking
Might not be seating correctly any more as well. Probably a brass seat that is getting pounded. 2 Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
The valve seat has already failed, fortunately it hasn't fallen out yet. Then it'll get REALLY expensive. If it hasn't done so already it's likely getting pretty close to burnthrough, which will mean no compression. 2 Quote Link to comment
