im2bad4ya
Can anyone point me to where I can get replacement locks and ignition? I found these two links from overseas ebay vendors and wanted to know if anyone has had good experience or even if they will work for that matter on my 510. http://www.ebay.com/itm/IGNITION-DOOR-TRUNK-FUEL-LID-LOCK-SET-FOR-DATSUN-SUNNY-B210-B310-120Y-130Y-140Y-/261959581263?fits=Make%3ANissan&hash=item3cfe01fe4f&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/IGNITION-DOOR-FUEL-LID-LOCK-FOR-DATSUN-NISSAN-720-D21-HARDBODY-PickUp-NAVARA-/311398403593?fits=Make%3ANissan&hash=item4880ca8e09&vxp=mtr I figure it would be cheaper than getting a locksmith to refurbish my locks and ignition. Cheaper? Have considered the shipping and likely Import Duties/Taxes if do this legitimatly? Local Locksmiths are very skilled individuals and can set you up with a replacement lock set, or rekey the mixed jungle that you might have. After all it's just a matter of installing a coherent set of leafs in the body of the tumbler. Check first [yellow pages is a good start] before you start sending money by non refundable sources to some back alley in Bankok! Quote Link to comment

Check first [yellow pages is a good start] before you start sending money by non refundable sources to some back alley in Bankok! $70-$90 to buy a set of new locks and keys, $130 to rekey what I already have, that doesn't include new keys. I just want to know if either of these sets will work on my 510 Quote Link to comment

im2bad4ya
They say B-210 and 720 so.... no Ok thanks, didn't know if they were interchangeable, any idea where I can get these parts new? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Try... http://community.ratsun.net/classifieds/category/7-electrical/?sort_key=date_added&sort_order=desc but don't expect 'new'. New would be from the Nissan dealer, very unlikely. Next would be a NOS New Old Stock or New Obsolete Stock but everyone lies and sells counterfeit or repops as NOS. To be truly NOS it would have to have been bought from Nissan but never installed, absolutely pristine condition, and still in it's box or wrapper. That's NOS. I would try David.... http://community.ratsun.net/user/699-qwik510/ He sells Datsun parts. If not new it would be in 'like new' condition. Quote Link to comment
qwik510
Thanks Mike. I do have an NOS 510 lock set but I am not selling it. Way too hard to find. I've only seen 2-3 complete NOS sets come up for sale in the past 10 years or so. I might have a good used ignition switch with key. I would have to look for it. I have heard that these locks from a 240Z can be made to work. Some of the key ways in the doors are different and you need to file them a little to make them fit. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2047675.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.X240z+door+lock.TRS0&_nkw=240z+door+lock&_sacat=0 Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck
Have you actually removed switch and taken to locksmith to see what they would charge?? I bet it isn't the huge pay out you are thinking it is.. I use older brick and mortar type joint in town that has been there since about the 1950s and i think they did 2 gas doors,, for about $25. You use those mobile units or a newer "strip mall" place that has high monthly overhead,, and it will most likely be higher. Quote Link to comment
Draker
I rekeyed my car for under $50.. matching all cylinders to the ignition key. 1 Quote Link to comment
