Yup. Usually the center bit w/ the 6 lugs has to be pulled off with something akin to a giant steering wheel puller. I havent torn apart a Datsun rear axle before, so im in unfamiliar territory. Since i need to preserve the parts, i'm not going to go bashing and prying.

Datsun rear axle is a semi float, there are 4 bolts behind the brakes the attach the axle to the housing. The only other thing connected would be the e-brake cables but yours is out of the truck. They slide right out once unbolted brakes and all.
