510farmer
I'm putting back the oil thrower on my l16 and I didn't notice when I removed it But does it just free wheel around the crank I see the woodruff key but I have some space between the key and the gear So when I put it on the key and slide it next to the gear it goes past the key and just free spins is this normal Thx john Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
When the crank pulley is on maybe it pushes it back in place? Quote Link to comment
Doctor510
Be sure you install it correctly Quote Link to comment
510farmer
We'll can someone tell me how! I can't find no info other than put the oil thrower in,no description on the way to do it Pictures would be awesome Thx john Quote Link to comment
Doctor510
It just slides on the crankshaft, it has a slot so it will go over the wood ruff key, turn it a bit either way so it won't slide off. Concave is right, convex is wrong/ large opening outwards. Quote Link to comment
510farmer
Ok I understand the slide over the key but once it passes the key It just free wheels I When the pulley is pushed on it looks to suck up to the thrower But I can't see if it does What forces it to turn if it's freewheeling past the key Thx farmer Quote Link to comment
kelowg
3-4 k rpms well turn it, it has no weight to it. So wont sit still for long. Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
Tightening the crank pulley bolt sandwiches it between the pulley and the distributor drive. It doesn't move once that bolt it tight. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Ahhh that's better! The key way that cut in it, is only to get it over the front key. Then the crank pulley pinches it. 1 Quote Link to comment
