Hitachi carb problem

1980 720 L20B with Hitachi carb

With engine warm and idleing, air filter off

Engine idles well except for randomly I can hear the carb make a "gulp" or "slurp" noise
and the the idle speed will drop for a second then return to normal.

Looking down the primary venturi I think I can see a small splash of fuel each time
it makes the sound and the idle drops.

Float level is correct, fuel pressure is a constant 2.5 psi, stock fuel return line is
on engine and working, spark plug color looks good.

check the plunger, your in cali where i had issues with my hitachi on my 72 510 thats all stock. Somewhere where i got fuel on the way home from jccs, it caused my plunger to swell to like 3 times its size to where barley enough fuel would come through, had to use fucking vice grips to get the damn thing out.  Dont like the fuel you guys have down there, never had a issue up here, was do to the ethanol.

Not sure if the 83 carb will work on an 80 L20B.
