that one guy
Hello, haven't posted in a hot minute, but i need some help. I need the piece that the gas gap actually twists into for a 72 240z. I do'nt even know what to call it to search for it online, and there doesn't seem to be hardly any Z cars here in Colorado, at least down in the Springs area. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks much! Talyn Quote Link to comment

hobospyder
Filler neck? Quote Link to comment
that one guy
Colorado Springs, Co. I just updated that, my bad. And it's not the filler neck itself, it's the metal plate that holds in the gas cap. Currently all i have is a rubber tube with a big ass empty hole that a cap won't lock into. Quote Link to comment
nismosilvia
260z the same? Quote Link to comment
that one guy
I don't believe so? Anyone got anything on if a 260z one would work?... Quote Link to comment

Rjawm
So if I understand correctly you are looking for this part and its name, sorry for the huge pic: I found it called a "Fuel Cap Flange" in this write up, where the pic is poached from: http://www.whiteheadperformance.com/1971-datsun-240z-restoration-project-rota-rbr-wheels-interior-prep-gas-cap-vent-hoses/#prettyPhoto And then I found the following part list on eBay, here http://www.ebay.com/itm/70-75-DATSUN-240Z-260Z-280Z-FUEL-FILL-TUBE-BOMBA-PETRO-GASOLINE-HOSE-NICE-/321400502525?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4ad4f678fd&vxp=mtr Hope that helps you out. Rjawm
Ok, last link I'll post, promise. It's a part out thread on hybridZ: http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/118428-early-260z-partial-part-out-73-240z-parts/ It's a long thread started in June this year, so no promises it's still available, it was TL:DR Quote Link to comment

Ranman72
yes the 260 one is the same if you cant find it i might be able to dig one up Quote Link to comment
that one guy
I you have one for less the 75 bucks, that'd be awesome  Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The filler necks are fairly standard for North America the biggest change is the non leaded openings are smaller. Wouldn't surprise me if an F-150 could be unbolted and put on. Quote Link to comment
Eomund
http://www.carpartsmanual.com/ Microfiche :) actual part numbers ftw Quote Link to comment
Ranman72
I believe this is only the 240 one the fuel neck is rubber through the bodey and this bolts it down this one I took off a 260 and looks like the filler neck clamps to it below the body the later models have a smaller gas cap and filler opening Quote Link to comment
Ranman72
260 240 guess they are different Quote Link to comment
