It was responsible for the only [not really] SR71 crash when test released from an A11 over the Pacific Missile Range. It was not fielded with the SR71 but was on occasion flown from a B52. It was not really needed with the SR71 because the SR71 could do all its missions without the complexity of toting along a drone. If you needed a SR71 to launch it, why not do the mission without it. It is my impression that some of these drones were transferred to NASA for their use. 2 Quote Link to comment
