Jesse C.
F4U-5N over Korea 123176 (VMF-513). Most likely flown by CAPT Donald Walker Dorn at the time of this photo. 123176 went missing after mission completion over North Korea Oct 29, 1951. "Captain Dorn was the pilot of an F4U-5N Corsair night fighter with the Marine Night Fighter Squadron 513, Marine Air Group 12, 1st Marine Air Wing. On October 29, 1951, while on a combat mission of strafing enemy positions, his aircraft's engine developed trouble then exploded." Markings replicated on current restoration on a bird that saw service in Argentina and is currently based in Germany 2 Quote Link to comment

MikeRL411
With the Catalina in the background I'm guessing Florida. Nice rescue boat on the belly. Air Rescue Service, Fifth Rescue Squadron, Flight D by the markings. 3 Quote Link to comment

Jesse C.
The last of the Brewster built Corsairs is going to once again take to the skies. This is a restoration that started with an abandoned hulk and lots of Government Red Tape 2 Quote Link to comment
q-tip
Cool story behind that pic. Don't remember all the details but they would get water in the fuel and have engine problems, engines cut out on take off so the pilot fired off the jatos drug the wing tip on the ice then flew the plane to where ever it was going. 1 Quote Link to comment
