Selling broken parts.

Recommended Posts

How do people in good conscious sell broken shit on the Classifieds? I guess I put to much faith in people to be honest. Please people stop selling broken parts, I work hard for my money and don't want to spend it on over priced scrap metal.

Not really new to the car scene but my first foreign classic. I posted a add for a straight crank pulley and water pump pulley had one response. The pulley I received was so obviously bent it is rediculous. Paid $50 for a crank and fan pulley I know the crank pulley is fucked just looking at it, not sure about the fan pulley yet. Just feel like if you are knowingly selling broken shit do it somewhere else besides here, or not at all.

If it was here on our CLASSIFIEDS  you can give negative feedback. Always insist on the seller supplying pictures. Who today can't take and send two dozen pictures in five minutes. If they can't, take a pas on it.

I got pics and it looked ok in the pics so either they were not the same part or I just couldn't see that the shaft of they pulley was bent. But it is not subtle at all. Just sucks for everyone that wants to sell or buy parts that you can't trust what you are getting.

The one that was on the motor when I bought the truck was bent exactly the same way. I was able to get it straight enough to where it stopped throwing the belt off but I would love to have one that doesn't wobble at all. I have been thinking about having one machined from aluminum or stainless.

Never fails to amaze me how so many people insist on having a pulley puller to get Datsun crank pulleys off.  It's not a big block.  Just wiggle back and forth, it comes right off.  I've only ever had to use a rubber mallet on one motor that was abused.  Short of it is, any number of us have any number of straight crank pulleys and water pump pulleys.  Which St. Petersburg are you in?
