bgmk106
Hello gents. Haven't posted much around the forum so for those who don't know I have a a VG30 swapped 620 (yello620s old truck) It's an absolute blast to drive! I put 10,000 miles on last summer. Problem is, when I do a rad launch  , or attempt a childish burnout I get wheel hop like crazy. It's not a common event but I would still like to remedy it. I don't want the process to get too involved so i was thinking of making a sort of caltrac system. What do you guys think? A different solution? or just don't do burnouts... Thanks! CameronT
maybe try getting harder tires so they just spin and not grip and spin! Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
Stiffer shocks? Yeah wheel hop is bad and will wreak absolute havoc on your drivetrain, so don't do burnouts until you rectify it. Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Traction bars. JC Whitney has a decent selection at good prices. Quote Link to comment

It's only happened three times but its not a good feeling when it does. I'll give the shocks a look. Thank you! maybe try getting harder tires so they just spin and not grip and spin! hmmmm. I need grip too though. Traction bars. JC Whitney has a decent selection at good prices. I'll check them out, Thanks! Grow up and drive like you should instead of beating your truck Ouch. A simple "don't do burnouts" would've sufficed. Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
Move one of the shocks to the other side of the axle. One in front and one behind and get new ones. This is what GM did to cure the first year Camaro's incredible wheel hop problem. Shocks were staggered for '68. The 720s are this way with the larger torque Z series engines. Quote Link to comment
kelowg
Leaf spring clamps in front of the axle helped alot on mine. $15-20.00 at oriellys. Quote Link to comment
