Ottoman0331
I just bought a 1977 280z. I removed the center console to attach the new shifter boot to the console. Well under the console I found a old factory looking toggle switch that had 3 positions. The wires were green. One was solid and the other 2 were green with a stripe. While I had it apart interlaced the switch and installed it into the console but can figure out what it goes to. So far it doesn't seem to do anything. Anyone know the switch I'm talking about? ggzilla
So the 280Z had a factory installed toggle switch? Other Datsuns last used those in the 1960s Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I thought he meant rocker switch. Quote Link to comment

Ottoman0331
This is a pic of the toggel switch. I made a mistake the wires are blue instead of green. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
That is not a factory switch, so its anybody's guess what its for. Quote Link to comment
dr.feltersnatch
I would guess either fog lights that may have been removed or a hidden kill switch. Doesnt look factory to me. 1 Quote Link to comment
Ranman72
agree it is not factory so I have no idea what its for try chasing the wires to where they go or look for cut wires or wires not connected to anything Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Remove it and forget it. 1 Quote Link to comment

Ottoman0331
This is the connector for the wires. The toggle switch may not be factory but the wires are. The connector is located under center console. The connections for the hazards, defrost, seatbelt and fuel light are accounted for. Quote Link to comment
