iwayman
So this is a D4K9 distributor, however it does not have the ignitor attached. Is it possible to run it without the ignitor? Quote Link to comment
laotsu
I thinka you could use a GM remote ignitor or find a datsun ignitor, either matchbox or remote. I know you can fo four point dizzies. Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
I have seen it done but don't know how. look in the HOW TO section using a GM module and Im sure you can figure it out. 50/50 guess Look like a A series motor dizzy, with the worm gear Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
Yes... (ignore the 'non matchbox') a six point a series? D4K9 The 4 is for 4 cylinder. Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
D4K9 The 4 is for 4 cylinder. That dist has 6 magnetic trigger points, though. And the worm gear drive. That's been adapted to something non-stock as well, judging by the rough-sawn homemade adapter plate. God only knows what it was adapted to work in. Quote Link to comment
iwayman
This was for vg30 carb conversion, supposedly it's one of the Saudi distributors (according to the PO). I used a Mallory mechanical advance dizzy and coil for the L6 instead of this and it runs strong, more power than the fuel injection. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Any 280zx 6 point reluctor and stator swapped in would look like that. Can't say if the VG30 CAS is turned with a gear like that or not. Will look it up when I get home. Quote Link to comment
