Weber 32/36 with airpump

Hey mates

 

Does anyone happen to run a weber 32/36 carb and have the air pump still hooked up? I'm trying to figure a way to do this.

Are you talking about the little brass outlet?  I was talking about that in another post and was told to hook it up to the distributor since this will actually control my vacumm advance on my electronic ignition.

If your engine is like a 521, the air pump does not really connect to the carb.  It does use the air cleaner to get filtered air, you can put a small auxiliary air inlet filter on the air pump inlet, instead of drawing air from under the air cleaner.

The "gulp" or anti backfire valve will still need to be hooked up to the intake manifold, along with the small vacuum sense line.

Yes, the belt driven pump on a 521 moves only fresh air.

I'm not sure aboot AZ smog laws but wont a Weber violate the inspection? If so what's the point of running the air pump if you are gonna fail the visual?
