GREY1979 510
Well some time in the future I wanna rebuild my motor butI know they don't make forged l20b rods but eagle make rods for the ka motor, so if they fit then id like to use them Quote Link to comment

It gives the length of different Datsun/Nissan rods. Do you need a motor? Where are you located? Quote Link to comment

flatcat19
No. KA rods are way too long. By 20 or so mm. Not sure of SR rods length. Quote Link to comment
DAT510
Yeah make sure the rods are the same lengths, and the holes on the piston side are the right diameter for the pins. Unless you want a higher or lower compression engine? is that why youre running forged rods? boost? lol Quote Link to comment

metalmonkey47
You can't have been searching too hard. Google "datsun L20 forged rods" and the 5th result. http://www.amazon.com/H-Beam-Connecting-Bolts-DATSUN-Engine/dp/B00EUV8MKA Quote Link to comment

Same part number listed for all 3. I'd bet that they are for an L16/L24 length. Quote Link to comment

I'd bet that they are for an L16/L24 length. That didn't even occur to me when I skimmed through that. They list the specs: H-Beam Connecting Rods (4 PCS) + Bolts for DATSUN 510 L Engine Straight-4 L16 L18 L20.Forged Aircraft 4340 Steel, Highest Level of Strength.High Performance, Supports 600 HP.Rod Length: 5.236" (133mm).B/E Bore: 53mm.S/E Bore: 21mm.B/E W: 26.8mm.S/E W: 23.9mm.Rod Bolt: 3/8". Probably all generic info....no fucking way any L-4 is going to make anywhere near 600HP without turning itself into butter in the process. Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
I think the stock L20Bs rods and bolts are ok to 7K. Anyone planning to run constantly over that is a serious racer and custom rods and forged pistons have been added by now. As to the KA rod in an L20B. The piston pin would be 3/4" higher on the piston. Leaving about 1/3 of an inch above it for the rings, sorry not going to work. Quote Link to comment
GREY1979 510
Ok thanks datzenmike but when you say 7k do you mean 7000rpm? Quote Link to comment
