Hooligan
Pretty good day... stopped at Vancouver Pick N Pull and snagged a S10 valance, also picked up a passenger door that Wayno grabbed for me, then on and grabbed a par of unmounted fenders. Also did some engine bay cleaning... Valance isn't mounted yet 2 Quote Link to comment
red76datsun
Nice! No more rust :) 1 Quote Link to comment
Hooligan
Ah yes... however, while removing both fenders, over half of the bolts snapped off. All have been extracted except the lower fender to cab which will not come out. I have a feeling that I am going to drilling and tapping. Not real happy Quote Link to comment
Loren O
I briefly owned a 620 , I had bought it for the engine & transmission ,but decided that it was in too good of shape to part out,so I sold it to a fellow Ratsuner. It rode very badly,& the brakes were almost worthless. I almost didn't buy another Datsun truck, because of how bad that one was,but saw my 521 & had to have it. Your 620 kc makes me want to buy another one! The gray Titan wheels look great, now that it's lowered ! I think if they if it were mine,I'd paint them gold,or bronze kind of like Subaru rims. Damn nice looking truck! Quote Link to comment
Hooligan
Thanks Loren... to be honest, with the 521 down for a build, I wanted a daily. My plans were to make sure it ran good and nothing more. I wasn't a huge fan of the 620 so I figured it would help me from wanting to spend money on it. Well... as you see, it grew on me and now its being built as well. Now I love the thing Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
You will be a pro at drilling and tapping after working on Datsuns for a while  1 Quote Link to comment
q-tip
Datsun fender bolt removal 101, tighten bolt until it snaps off, remove fender, screw remainder of bolt out back side. That usually works. 2 Quote Link to comment
Hooligan
I've gotten all of them out except the ones on the bottom of the fender that go to the cab. Those are the only 2i have left and cannot get them out Quote Link to comment
q-tip
Mix up some used atf and mineral spirits and soak them in that Quote Link to comment
Tristin
Tyler has some extra used ATF down at his place... I think he has enough to spare. 1 Quote Link to comment

Hooligan
Finally gave up. I ended up drilling the bolts, used a tap, and made some new damn threads. I managed to get that far tonight 1 Quote Link to comment
Hooligan
Fenders are on. Still need to shoot some primer, but they are on. Next up... passenger door 2 Quote Link to comment
Tristin
Those look good. Make sure that you save the front fenders so I can copy that section of the orange vinyl. Then Ill reproduce them for you once you get all your body work taken care of. Progress looks good. Much better than the rusted panels  1 Quote Link to comment
