Does anyone recognize this 1972 510 ? Please Help !!!

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased this car, in Ridgefield Washington, from someone that knew nothing about it. I would really like to know what power train was planned for it. My best guess is a rotary or a S2000. Any help would be great !!! Thanks!!!

I agree, I love the fact that it is a clean canvas! I would love to keep it Nissan!!! I never considered a bastardize swap. But if it is setup for a S2000 Wow!!! I might have to take the criticism. I hate to not take advantage of all the nice work that has already been done.

Looks like the put in the clearance to run the 5 speed behind a ka/sr/vg, but they made it flat from the heater back instead of following the angle of the stock tunnel. Looks like a solid shell though, good buy!

At first I thought the same thing, but to me it's looks excesively tall, and I don't thing the shifter hole is far enough back for the KA or SR tranny.

I will keep mine Nissan, but if I had a blank canvas, I'm sorry but, I'd stick an aluminum 347 small block Ford in it.....  I loved my 408hp/439 tq 347 in my '65 Fastback.  You would have traction issues in the 510, but I'd be grinning from ear to ear....

Even if not a V8, I prefer at least 100 hp per 1000 lbs in a car.  150hp might be the better number per 1000 lbs.

The hole is far enough back, ....

Ah.... picture 165 does show the hole far enough back.....  I should look at all the pictures first.

I'm curious, how much of the car did you get?  Is it all there?  Are you planning to put it on the street or the track?

What you see is what I got. A new windshield,in the box and a partially installed new headliner. Also a disc brake conversion in the rear!  What led me to think it was built for a rotary or S2k was other builds with the same tunnel mod.
