TENDRIL
is the plastic ring broken or the metal stick? if metal stick is fallen down into the tube a strong pen magnet can pull it out ive done this in a older truck not sure about newer sentra. if there is still some plastic visible ive screwed in a sheet metal screw to the plastic and have pulled it out this way Quote Link to comment
Datsunrider71
It's plastic. Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
Assuming it has not wrapped itself around the crankshaft, You can buy "Claw" type pickup devices in most auto parts stores. You probably don't need the almost universal LED light on the tip, but it may come in handy when you drop bolts into the frame rails later on. Shove it in [keep it clean now] and clip on to the broken end of the dip stick and the rest should come naturally. Quote Link to comment
Datsunrider71
I don't think that will work its nothing to grab on too I try using glue and JB weld and nothing Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck
try an indoor outdoor vac that has been reduced to about the dipstip hole size,,,, and pray. 1 Quote Link to comment

nismo dr
do this all the time at work, very common on sentras. Pinch off the pcv hose, then blow air through the breather port on the valve cover and the broken dipstick will come popping out of the tube. only time this does not work is when someone has started bending the tube trying to pry it out, then your dropping the pan and pushing it out. sentra oil pans are gravy though 2 Quote Link to comment

Mannyvig
The Dr is right, I really hype you haven't put pliers on anything yet. It helps if you spray a little line in the dipstick tube first. Quote Link to comment

Mannyvig
Well if it is kinked enough that the compressed air doesn't remove it, plan on replacing the tube and the dipstick. At least yanking the tube out is no big deal, just requires brute force. Quote Link to comment

Mannyvig
Just like that I wouldn't have to buy anything if I do that? You will need to buy a dip stick and a new tube if you have to force it out. You will make the tube way worse when removing it. Quote Link to comment
