Boxcar
Well I was a bit pessimistic the last time I posted to this thread. SORRY..... Have made a decision. I'm going to fallow through with the original plan . Full exo Lockers at both ends etc. But now I'm building for my self...... The changes to the plan will be : #1 NO GIRLY PAINT JOB. Thinking of adding the flying tiger teeth then clear coat the olive drab that's on it. #2 NO MORE BODY WORK ( chicks dig scars ). Unless I decide to cut the fenders for 35's #3 Full digital dash with nav system. #4 Will be cutting down an old Rathskeller canopy to fit under the planed EXO. ( just to be different ) #5 adding a rear 8000lb winch. #6 Engine upgrade. #6 Volvo doubler . #7 Bead locks. All of the things that I knew it needed but the Kid just could not afford. Then I will just have to keep it in the family ..... Found this pic of the rig on it's last trip before demo. I wish I had been able to stick with the 521 body... 1 Quote Link to comment

ratsun73
oh yeah I am going to do some cage work to, what tube are you going to use? Quote Link to comment
Boxcar
Will be using a combo of 1.5" and 2" dom tubing. Not sure which way I will go on the engine yet . Probably something in the L engine family. Have been toying with a supercharger. 1 Quote Link to comment
q-tip
LD20T!!!, at least that's what I think would be cool..... Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
I like this plan :D Please, tell me more about the Volvo doubler. Quote Link to comment
Boxcar
Old school. Mount a Volvo 142 or 144 4 speed in place of the half shaft ( divorced T-case). The trans itself with out bell housing and tail shaft mods, is very short. Net: 5 high and 5 low ranges........and it's synchronised. Will allow a taller axle gear ( say 373's ) while maintaining an incredibull crawl ratio.( several ). The damn thing is bomb proof. 2 Quote Link to comment
q-tip
Ah the wonderful crawl ratio of "many", I like it, might have to use this idea for future builds.... Quote Link to comment
Boxcar
As I haven't prep't a Volvo trans for this use in a few years. I will document it here for posterity. It may be a few months though . I have a few projects in front of this one now...... 2 Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Definitely would like to see how it is done, I'd like more gearing options. 1 Quote Link to comment

Boxcar
The boy showed back up with a good sob story. So I gave him the truck. I figured I started the truck for Trask ( the kid ) not just because (at the time ) he was my daughters boy toy. But because I liked the kid a lot, and because I se something in that Kid. Felt good to do what little I could for him. The day he came to get the truck it was road legal . He was able to drive it home...... Quote Link to comment
q-tip
That is a sob story.... Quote Link to comment
