EdwardK
Snow day photos. Got that new fender on. It doesn't quite fit because the engine bay sheet metal is slightly bent. No biggie, I'll fix it later. Haven't done a whole lot to her, just general maintenance to keep her running while I work on the Dime and the 'Z'. Quote Link to comment
EdwardK
Alright. Just because I'm mildly paranoid. Truck gargles and pops upon the rpm's dropping. (Like a racecar. Like... Have you ever heard a race tuned four cylinder Ford mustang? Just like that.) Definitely unburned fuel in my pipe. (Straight pipe at the moment. Getting a muffler soon.) It's probably the carb tuning, as I've had minor issues with this carb since day one. Is this burning my valves? ...Should I even worry about this? Truck performs fine, I've had no drop in performance since I bought the thing. Quote Link to comment
EdwardK
Some old photos I never put up. I hate looking at these old photos. The truck looked so much better before I started on the body work. I have to keep reminding myself that it's better structurally. But I'm itching to fix the last of the rust and repaint her. Cruddy incorrectly mounted mirrors. As well as a coworkers... Chevy... Uhh... Thing... Chevelle or Nova one... I think. At work. Road Atlanta last fall. And yeah... This happened.... Here's a vid: Anyway. I have got a new fender and repaired the hood. The hood has been repainted flat black and looks like sh#%. Really unhappy with that. Also have a new tachometer. I'll get some oics tomorrow if I have time. Quote Link to comment
EdwardK
Promised OIC's Currently as she sits now. Repaired and repainted hood. (I hate that color, but it keeps it from rusting again.) And the new fender which doesn't quite fit right yet. Still working on that... Interior, with my cool wheel and new awesome tach that doesn't look ghetto. The steering wheel, courtesy of Datsunfreak. Aaand my tach. God I love this so much better than the old one I had zip-tied to the steering column that I never took photos of. 1 Quote Link to comment

EdwardK
Got wheels. 'Nuff said. Also, I've been trying to get bed hooks and the refrigerator handles for ages now and everybody says they have some but for some reason or another can't ship them... What the heck? Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
I changed my oil over to 10w40 the other day. Only to realize, wait... It's winter... Craaaap. 10W40 is perfect for down to 0 degrees. Here's the Datsun factory chart 1 Quote Link to comment

EdwardK
Love this bonnet (or as they say in japan "hood") I kind of like it, but I can't wait until the whole truck is one color again yanno? (Gonna keep the rising sun, but it'll be ghosted on with a lighter shade of blue.) Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Iinno what you mean. I got my truck down to one color too. But l wish I'd had the old hood to put back from time to time. 1 Quote Link to comment
EdwardK
So... It's been a while. I haven't got a whole lot done what with bouncing between jobs and getting my stuff together for college. Uhm... Cheap poaint, changed the tires again (This size fits sooo much better), and did a couple of piddly things here and there. Nothing major yet. However, driving home yesterday my cab decided to hemorrhage. I knew the rust was bad, but I didn't think it was this bad. So, I'm still undecided between fixing this cab, or sourcing out a new one. The passenger side, if I remember correctly is perfect. But I haven't had the carpet out in a couple years. I'll go check it later today I guess. And of course I'll leave you guys with my usual 'just for giggles' photo. I actually might end up putting this in here, as it frees up a lot of legroom for my 6' 3" body... But I dunno yet. Anyway, if anybody has ever fabbed up cab mounts let me know. It doesn't look particularly hard to make the cups and weld them in. And barring that it anyone has a decent cab here in the southeast they're looking to get rid of drop me a pm. 2 Quote Link to comment

EdwardK
I have a somewhat ok front cab mount. Can you get me some measurements off it? Depth and diameter? I may be able to recreate the cups. Quote Link to comment

You pay shipping and I can send it to you. After you build a new one or at least get the measurements you need I will pay to have it sent back. Quote Link to comment
EdwardK
What kind of seat is that btw? It's a Kirkey race seat of some sort. I bought it from a guy who was selling the parts off his Spec E30. It's actually surprisingly comfortable with the padded cover. Quote Link to comment

If I can't I'll definitely go this route. 1 Quote Link to comment
