Taytay Posted March 13, 2013 Report Share Posted March 13, 2013 Every build thread i flip thru has an awesome score of a truck for 500 bucks that takes some lowering, new wheels and BAM! badass truck...... makes me wanna kick my self, Sooooo heres my little Home Depot tripper i (saved i guess :confused: ), that has a spot with me no matter how much of pos it is. Enjoy :thumbup: So here she was before she became mine, kinda inspire to what it could look again for me. Aaaaaaaannnnnd the reason it was so cheap So day one of getting it home, parked it. changed out the master (hence the wreck) bled the brakes, and swapped out the wheels. Scored these steelie Toyota's and mounted some 195-55-15s i had lying around. :thumbup: way bettter. Quote Link to comment

Taytay Posted March 13, 2013 Author Report Share Posted March 13, 2013 Next i played around with the engine bay and cleaned things up, i forgot to snap a pic of the ghetto fab bungie 9000 battery tie down system, but im sure if you use your imagination you can think of what it looked like. You can kinda see it but the front battery tray support is broken from corrosion, so in in the not so resto fasion i added some support. put on some steel braids. aaaaaaand put in a coolant res SCORE on a side draft tho! :thumbup: (needs tuning) Quote Link to comment

Passenger panel intact, so i just shot it in black. The drivers side wasnt so lucky so i pulled it and traced it out onto a plastic like card board material which i got at....... guess where? Home depot! lol fuck oriellys! I pulled the seat and plastic 80s.... maybe 70s? floor mat to find an at least intact floor... lots of surface rust on the drivers side.........and a red painted passenger side. got to dark for an after shot but imagine black paint :D Quote Link to comment

I really dig this color!! im thinking it was original since everything under the front end is brown as well. but the roof i think was added later on, but its nice tho kinda off white. think ill leave it when i paint the whole truck green. Taytay Posted March 13, 2013 Author Report Share Posted March 13, 2013 So after driving around for a few weeks looking like this- lazy passenger with no highbeam, and a drivers headlight with a warning indication to the person in front of me whenever we just went over a bump....... (no retaining spring). i figured it was time to not look like such a dump..... but of coarse in a non resto way lol. so got a lead from the wrecking yard report on a 521 2 hours from me, hopped in the (longer distance travel) truck and set out. got both fenders and front head light assemblies for 150 out the door. tuduh!! and began Quote Link to comment
