_chiefjt
Yes it sure does! So I figured next time I go to pic a part, I'm gonna buy a random aluminum valve cover since its only $5.50 and practice in that first. Quote Link to comment
ronmulan
wait $5.50 for a z24 valve cover or just for a random one off of a random vehicle? Quote Link to comment
_chiefjt
A random aluminum one off any vehicle. lol I was just gonna find a 22r or Honda valve cover l practice on, so if it comes out good I could just re-sell it. Quote Link to comment

_chiefjt
Thanks, I forgot to take pics when I put the brute padding in. It was already getting late and I was amped up to get it done. Next thing to do is the put in the ST tailgate I picked up and spray the inside of my bed. Any suggestions on bed liner or anything like that. Quote Link to comment
Guam_Guy
My suggestion is save up and have someone do it right for you, I have tried the Walmart stuff and while it is an ok product, the prep work is extensive and time consuming to do right. I just took my other truck to a rhino liner place and they did it for me. Not to mention the warranty is badass. Just my .02 cents though. Quote Link to comment
_chiefjt
Alright cool. Thanks Finally got my Valve Cover on. I had to go to my pic a part and get the right oil cap cause the Z24 one doesn't fit it. 1 Quote Link to comment
_chiefjt
So this summer will be 2 years that I've had my truck. Figured since I have access to a rack I might as well use it. Tranny gear oil change Quote Link to comment
_chiefjt
I don't have any updates but I wanted to post pics now that I got a real camera. Previous pics were with a 4th gen Ipod Touch. But anyway, I cleaned my engine bay some more. Like, new battery and cleaning up some wiring. 1 Quote Link to comment

Charlie69
Good looking 720. Do yourself a favor and remove the little filter from your valve cover and get a short length of hose and a plastic elbow and connect it to the bottom of your Weber air cleaner base. I will take pictures and post tomorrow. You will get smells in your cab while driving if you don't. Quote Link to comment
_chiefjt
What are you smelling cause I don't smell anything. I've had that k&n filter for a while and haven't smelt anything. And I still have the plastic elbow that came with the weber kit so if I do need to switch over I can. 1 Quote Link to comment

_chiefjt
Thanks! It's been this way for a while. Been wanting a different look but can't seem to get away from its current state. Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
That is part of the crankcase ventilation system. Is you PCV Valve hooked up properly? The valve cover vent is designed to recirculate into the air cleaner. you will smell crankcase fumes in the cab most likely in the winter when you have the windows up running the heater. I am glad you are not smelling them now. Quote Link to comment
wayno
I like Red trucks, they have a special place in my heart. Loose the stock 720 rims. Quote Link to comment

I would like to add that eventually the engine compartment will get greasy from the oil fumes coming out of that small filter, and there is nothing you will be able to do to stop it unless you either hook a tube to it and vent it below the frame rails, or connect it to the airfilter housing, which will make it greasy inside of it also. It's an engine compartment, unless your Just Joel, it's going to get dirty, somehow the laws of physics don't work in Joels engine compartment. Quote Link to comment
