danzo620
I've got a '76 620 and I had my headlight go out on me. I'm looking to keep the ol' 620 close to factory. Plus those old headlights go forever. Anyone got a headlight or set of headlights they'd be willing to part with? Link to comment
MicroMachinery
Check your local parts store. Should be about $8. Using an old, used headlight is like using a fuel filter you found in the junk yard. Link to comment
datsunaholic
You realize this is a part that can be bought at an auto parts store, right? Last I checked NAPA could even get the incandescents instead of the more common halogen sealed beams. Unless you're looking for the actual Koito brand bulbs, which will be next to impossible. Most of those burned out by 1982. Yo'll see a few high beams since they aren't used as much, but the low beams have usually been replaced 5 to 10 times over. Link to comment
MikeRL411
My 1967 Datsun still has 3 of the 4 original Toshiba headlights, all working like champs. The 4th was cracked in a parking lot screwup [the other car's, not mine] and so far has been replaced 3 times with "good old American made" Sylvania bulbs. Some things are well made from the day one, then there's Sylvania. If I ever see a Toshiba Hi-Lo bulb in the JY I would have no hesitation in plugging it into my 411. Link to comment
danzo620
Yea, I'm looking for the Koito's. Someone sent me a pm already. I'm with MikeRL411 here, they were made right from the start, and built to last. Those $8 autozone lights might work but they just don't hold up. Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
Hella makes a sealed beam if you want close to stock I guess. Just get a H4 set with a harness. You wont go back Link to comment
bloodontheapex
What is the bulb diameter? I have some Koito bulbs from a 1978 Celica. Link to comment
ggzilla
All 4-light system bulbs are the same size, no matter which brand of car I have original Koitos,.not burned out, but are dim due to age. Link to comment
DanielC
With incandescent headlamps, like all incandescent lamps, the life is inversely proportional to the brightness. If you want long lamp life, make then not as bright. Want a really bright lights out of them, you will shorten the life expectancy. Link to comment
