Ka swap into 77 king cab

Alright, picked this up from a fellow member last night. He did a ton of work on it so that I could take all the credit in the end! He had the engine in, mounts already mounted, trans done up, driveshaft cut and re welded, almost finished... A lot of you most likely saw it in the for sale section just waiting to be picked up and loved! After convincing him I had a good trade, (took some massaging to get him to agree) we met up and proceeded to load the truck and other miscellaneous parts into/on to my truck and trailer. In the deal I picked up redeyes mounts, can am wiring box, inline fuel pump, truck harness, ka harness, Ecu, etc... A ton of sweet stuff. My bestest friend in the whole world will be doing the wiring for me because I am a wuss and far to scared to try! What's left to do is put everything back together in the engine compartment and the cab. Then see if nick and I can knock out the wiring together. Hoping to be completed in about 2 months. I have a fair amount if free time so in shooting to be driving it quickly. Picture time

Did some cleaning and organizing of all the parts today. Hope to get a good bit more done tomorrow. I love it and am way pumped to get this truck moving in the same direction it's been going!

Great pics, looks like a good start. Any pics of the frontier exhaust mani? Looks like you only need a little clearance work on that cross member.

I recommend picking up a service manual for the frontier, it will help a ton with the wiring.

No picks of the manifold right now, I'm off to Portland for a Halloween party this weekend. I'm going to pick up a manual for it and I've been pleading with icehouse to draw me up a diagram and he says he has wired 1 truck engine before. So fingers crossed on that!!! I might pick up a new uncut harness as this one is pretty stripped in sine places. The PO was going through it to clean it up to his liking, and I don't even know where to begin. (Wiring is my downfall)

No, I live on the other side of Portland from you...

Redeye, the Frontier manifold has a CAT built into it.

When I held the manifold up to the motor, The CAT hit the fire wall, and the manifold still needed to go back another inch. On top of that the manifold also hit the Torsion bar. It is a big ugly beast.

Took off about a 1/4 inch and will be putting it on in the morning. Not pretty but with some dirt it will fit right in. Also put the brake master cylinder, clutch master, old wire harness, some relays and a few other small things back in.

Payday cannot come fast enough!!! Going to pick up new bushings for the cab, clutch master, some metal to make a pair of seat brackets, s13 exhaust manifold, vacuum house, hose clamps, egr block off plate, uhhh I know I'm forgetting a few things so hopefully this list helps! Put the door seals in and the trim piece that holds them in. Also put some elbow grease into a couple chrome pieces I have'. 5B8C303A-1FAC-4925-9CB5-62E1FEA34797-5767-0000052F2ACFAF91.jpg

I think you will need to stop looking at wire colors, as I think they will all be different.

What you should be doing, is start looking at what is required to get the S14 running by his diagrams, like what is the wire actually connected to on the ECU... Then you need to find the corresponding pin on the frontier ECU, and use that wire.

I say S14 because it is a OBDII car.
