ArchetypeDatsun Posted September 28, 2012 Report Share Posted September 28, 2012 Some info on my Z: Right now it starts and runs, just got the P90A-H head rebuilt, It now has solid lifters, both the head, engine block and T-5 transmission are from a 83 280zxt parts car i bought 4 years ago. The O2 sensor isn't hooked up because It's running the Z31 O2 and the adaptor nut fell off while driving, the one i ordered from Nissan dealership did not fit. This set up was done by the previous owner that had the 83 280zx parts car. It's running pig rich, the day I had the engine freshly swapped ran very well and then something went wrong and little by little it got worse. I know for a fact the timing is a bit off because the power cuts off at 4K rpm, i don't have a timing light nor the tools necessary to do a lot to it. The compression is great, the car will drive anywhere but it consumes plenty of gas i notice it when i took a 60 miles round trip. The engine is stock beside the turbo, Z31 set up & muffler. I'm not a mechanic and I lack in it but had friends help me out but haven't had any luck on figuring out the problem but i will keep trying. I hardly drive it and it saddens me to just see it just sit especially when i'm on a super low budget. List of things done. Z31 300zx Turbo set up (ECU & MAF) AiResearch T3/TO4E Turbo (no shaft play) Steeda Short Shifter (Aftermarket Mustang shifter) Stock exhaust with 3" Megan muffler Aluminum Koyo radiator dual electric fans MSA front & rear sway bars HID lights Aftermarket headlights Headlight covers JVC stereo w/ Pioneer Speakers 16" Ultra Wheels New NGK spark plugs New Spark plug wires New Cap & Rotor I also have an authentic 81 280zx turbo shell parts car (no engine & trans) had the stock exhaust in much better condition than mine, which i'll soon replace onto my Z. Has Rack & Pinion the seats are still pretty good shape, the dash was already taken apart when i got it. Still has the R200 3.54 rear end but has no brakes previous owner took them. My Z isn't perfect in anyway as it wasn't even when i bought it, it has a front end damage on the bottom of the core support, rust on the obvious parts like battery tray, driver front fender, rust ate threw the floor where the spare wheel is, rust on the roof line and rear hatch door. A few dings but body is mostly straight, paint is still there and not pealing off but the sun has took its course so its not as dark as it used to be. Front bumper won't fit as the core support is bent and the shocks don't align. The parts car is pretty straight beside a rear end passenger side damage other than that it's great for parts for the running Z. I'm also thinking of selling it if i can't find a trade haven't really set a price in my head, if i still have it and money is coming in I'll will keep working on it and fix it. Any of you are free to make me offers, I would love a 1st gen 510 wagon :D (who doesn't :hyper:) , 610,710 wagon, maybe even a 81-84 Maxima wagon, but seriously if any of you guys thinking of parting with a 810 wagon please let me know i really don't mind rust as long as its not real bad. I'm asking $3000 obo, I will be getting a new title as the old one got lost when I moved. Went back and actually read the post, sure enough two cars. lol. I'd have to admit the front end damage would be a bit of concern for most buyers and it might take another enthusiast to buy this to get close to what you are hoping for. GLWS. Link to comment

It seems that way but it's not what happened I bought the Z when it was completely straight and stock the damage was done by somebody that hit the car at my old work. I was actually was told by security when it happened and tried to do what I could to fix it because I really liked the car. The parts car is just that just for parts nothing more I got it off a member here (iwayman) it is the same color so it doesn't look confusing. It does suck to have the damage on it but I've drove it this way for years and never had any problems. The damage it is not recent thought looks that way. I know if I were to part it out I would probably make what I want for it but at the moment I don't have the tools, lifts & space to do all that. I know people will put a completely different story in there head because there's a lot sellers that lie but that's just how people are I am as honest possible. When I posted it for sale the Z had a primer black hood I made a update that I swapped the primer hood for a painted one. Here's the 2 cars side to side, note the Z on the right with the lights on is what I'm selling and the parts car on the left comes with it. Here's the driveable Z, starts and drives like I've said it the very first post. This is the parts car it's a moving shell no engine or trans, I would of took more pictures but I had move the parts car I'm putting a new fence in. The Parts Car has an R200 3.54 rear end with CV axles, Rack & Pinion, has both good doors with power windows, Fenders, and has most of the interior both seats are in fair/good condition very comfy. Thanks man I appreciate it, the parts car is a shell but it's a california model it still has some of the smog stuff on it, the driver had some smog stuff removed no smog here in southern oregon just throwing it out there. I have 2 Vynal sleeves for the T-Tops. Just let your friend know one is a Slicktop (hard top) & and the other is a T-top (parts car) there the same color so it can be a little confusing at first glance. Link to comment
