Warped head

The bottom of the head was only shaved ?....correct?

Well....if you have a banana and the bottom is shaved to straighten it out....what about the top where the cam towers sit?

Needs to be shaved also or the towers shimmed

Correct?

If it was that bad then I should have had problems before I took it off. Shop said everything was straight.

I think squatches has me covered. He's right up the road.

I found a fuckup. #3 cam tower dowel seemsto be the wrong one. It was on the back and I couldn't see it. Probably that half a milimeter difference it takes to snap a cam

I shaved it down and it's nice and snug now.

Just like dropping the tensioner

I won't do it again.

Dat Lurka

Got my head back. The shop lady told me it wasen't a head but actually an aluminum banana. Shaved 10 thousandths. Had two burn valves. Apparently it's been off in the past. #2&3 intake valve seats are stainless steal.

Did you snap that during assembly/ prior to bolting on the head? How in the fuck???

Roll the engine over by hand after you get it torqued down and the chain set to make sure nothing is binding.

Yeah I did it with the head off... pretty easy.

All is well and it runs like a champ.
