ddrum
Printed on my 620's hood it says that the truck weights 2750LBS, but the previous owner said he weight it on a scale and it read around 2300LBS. Has anyone weight a 620? Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
I think 2236lbs is the weight of an unloaded short bed. My tag says emissions test weight @ 2750lbs as well. EDIT: According to olddatsun.com, the curb weight is 2286lbs. i was damn close! http://www.davidcmurphy.com/olddat/620specs.htm Quote Link to comment
ddrum
Nice! thanks, so an l20b should be plenty of power for this kind of weight. Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
Yup! At 100HP per-ton, It's pretty peppy for a truck of it's age,. Quote Link to comment

flyerdan
I've got a scale ticket right here, I noted that there was about 1/2 tank of gas, weight was 2360. Empty except for the usual behind the seat tarps and straps, load securing stuff. Quote Link to comment

Dawa
just wanted to bump this old thread because im excited i got to weigh my truck yesterday. (73 620, l16, 4 speed, approx 2-3 gallons of gas) front: 1320 rear: 1100 total: 2480 this was with me in it, so -160 and you got 2320. weight distribution is approx F 55 R 45 this is with a bit of a rake, when i finally install those 720 springs it should distribute more weight to the rear. if 1 gallon of gas is 6.5, fill up the rest of the tank and i would add approx 58.5 to the equation, but not directly to the rear since again trucks at a rake and the tank is more forward. eventually i would like to put the tank farther rearward and more centerline. datzenmike
Raising or lowering one axle won't significantly change the weight ratio. It's not like weight runs down hill to the lower end. Quote Link to comment
skyshadow
^Well... normal force is always opposite of gravitational force so yes to a point. But, frictional force will alter total force direction thus distribution. Not going to be huge thoughIf you recall, old gassers and hot rodders racked their cars for this effect. datzenmike
Totally to the point actually, which was, weight distribution. Raising or lowering a vehicle is not going to change the weight on each axle. Weight transfer on acceleration is a different thing. Can't be measured except by comparing time slips. Raising the front or the entire car will cause a shift in weight to the rear, on acceleration. Soft or no shocks on the front will allow it to rise even farther on take offs and shifts.
