ari falco
Not saying you can't, just that the oil doesn't do that much pushing. Hi !! I have the same tensioner as in the picture here. The picture shows the entrance hole for oil, but there is one more hole on the top. Is that some kind of relief valve/hole ?? , because when i press in the tensioner it comes oil out of hole . datzenmike
Never noticed it. Could just be an oil jet o lube everything. Got a picture? 1 Quote Link to comment

Got a picture? https://www.flickr.com/photos/144233655@N04/27847398550/in/dateposted/ I have searched everywhere but can not find anything about it . oil out of the hole or not. hole appears larger than the entrance hole for the oil, how will the tensioner hold pressure if the oil comes out of the other end Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
True, I don't think it was a significant amount of push. I'll try to remember to check one of mine tonight. That picture is mine. Most L and Z engines have an oil peg or jet just above the crank sprocket. Some later engines do not. Maybe they removed it and just rely on the tensioner oil. Quote Link to comment
