I don't think any slave has a spring inside it. Pressure from the master pushes the slave piston/push rod against the clutch arm and compresses it. When the peddle is released the pressure plate pushes the clutch arm back against the push rod/piston in the salve and forces fluid back into the master reservoir.

If this is set right I don't see how the slave piston can possibly push out the back. The clutch arm will prevent it.

the problem isn't the piston coming out the back the piston doesn't push out hard enough to engage the clutch.

the master looks new and the last owner said it was brand new so maybe he didnt bench bleed it before he put it in.

would it need to be bench bleed?

bleed it already

if it doesent work get a new slave

if it doesent work get a new master

total cost both parts less than 50 bucks and maybee even half of that

then you can drive it and enjoy it instead of trying to fix it with parts you are unsure of

http://www.rockauto.com/ both parts in beckarnley brand about 25 bucks plus shipping

if you want to go cheap just buy a cheaper brand many to choose from

good luck

Make sure to poperly adjust the nut on the slave cylinder for length and stroke, then use locktight to hold it together... sounds like your chasing your tail a bit... the pressure plate should push the slave back into place, if your adjusted correctly... even with locknuts, these come loose and act like this.. adjust it all up correctly, a dab of locktight, the tighten the locknut to the adjuster... Spring? what spring? it all works off the pressure plate spring....

You mean the rear brake lights? Brake light on all the time is the switch up above on the brake peddle. Usually there is a small rubber bumper that contacts the switch.... the rubber falls off and the switch isn't opened to shut them off.

OR

You mean the BRAKE warning light on the dash?

If you have a spare 60A five speed, sell it on ebay for $450, and keep driving the 4-speed. I just got back from a 2500 mile trip with a 4speed.

FS5W60L will also fit fine as a 4-speed replacement. FS5W60A and FS5W60L are basically the same, but the -L is a dogleg. Even the large B210 5-speed will fit in a small 4-speed tunnel with a modified rear mount bracket.
