kelowg
If brand new weber, problem with accelerator pump arm. Metal parts gulling/grinding against each other. I used some antisieze , fixed it Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Another common problem is tightening down the throttle nut. It needs a very light torque, just enough to compress the lock washer. Any tighter and it jams the throttle so it doesn't seat correctly. So has a variable idle speed. Quote Link to comment

trackwhore
what you said about the variable idle speed sounds like whats happening. when i start the car it will idle correctly but after i drive around for a bit and come to a stop the idle doesn't fall unless i feather the throtle. and inbetween that i get these random bursts of self acceleration, and if i'm at a stop when it decides to accelerate on its own it will rev to 6000 rpm and then suddenly go back to normal Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
undo the shaft nut and tighten it down just enough Quote Link to comment
