Z-train
Are these hood vents fuctional and what year trucks are they on? http://tucson.craigslist.org/cto/3084596059.html Quote Link to comment
Will
I thought that they were F10 vents at first, but nope - not a match. The F-10 ones are functional though - they were from too much heat due to all of the emissions junk. Quote Link to comment
HRH
1980-81 got those on the 720s. Most cars had hood vents right around that time. My 79 Honda Accord had them too. If they got too covered with snow, heat would build up enough to start boiling the gas and presto! vapor lock! I rather like the vents though. And you can still do that for venting excess engine bay heat. I used to have my D21 hood spaced up JUUUUST a little on the rear edge to dissipate heat from the header. Haven't had to do that with the 4x4 D21, probably because the body is up higher. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Sorry Matt the hood vents were first used on the '81 and stopped being used Oct. '82 when the Z24 motor was introduced. The '80 truck didn't have them. Quote Link to comment
