Zeusimo
So I Installed A Rebuilt 75 710 L20b Carb, Plugged The Holes, Removed Idle Cam, Choke, And Anti-Diesel Valve. Set Timing To 12BTDC, Adjusted Valves, New Kyosan Fuel Pump, New Gapped Plugs 0.030, And Points 0.020, Dwell No Clue... Bled Air Out Of Cooling System, Removed Secondary Points, Rebuilt Top-End U67 Peanut U20 Cam Everything On Motor Lines Upto TDC 11:28, Cam/V-Notch, 2 On Sprocket, New Beck/Arnley Chain So Car Starts Up Fine And Doesn't Missfire Carb Squirts Strong Gas When Off For Only 2-3 Pumps When Off It Is Very Responsive When Giving It Gas But It Doesn't Idle Right Even When Hot Goes From 800-1200 Up And Down Every 5 Secs? Not Sure If This Is Right I Did Have A Holley On It Before.. And It Ran GOOD But It Seems Too Much For Even A V8? I Much Rather Have A Hitachi/Weber I Still Need To Find/Install PCV Hose To Intake Will L20b Carb Not Work With L18? Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMANgiC1CeQ Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Looks like the choke wire and the idle cut solenoid not wired up. Other than that maybe a vacuum leak. Grab the carb and try to twist it. If it moves it may not be mounted tightly or the internal screws between the base and the body are loose. Quote Link to comment
Zeusimo
Yeah I Removed The Choke And Pin From Valve If I Hook Them Up It Will Just Die Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck
The wires hanging need to be hooked up ,,,The one that goes to the back of the carb to that big hex bolt thing ...you can see at :27 on the top right side of carb ,,helps control the idle .. Quote Link to comment
bonvo
make sure that the screws in the base of the carb are tight and are not stripped my stock hitatchi was like that the base screw closest to the throttle linkage was stripped and would never tighten so as i worked the throttle the carb would actually seperate creating a huge vacuum leak Quote Link to comment
Zeusimo
@Bonvo Same Thing With That Screw, Didn't Even Idle Before I Had To Cut It Down Almost Three Threads To Get It To Tighten Also Used Two Gaskets, One Before And After The 1/16" Spacer Plugged The Vaccum Lines With Tighter Hoses And It Helped Alittle Bit But Tommoz I Will Try To Get A Torque Wrench And Retorque Intake/Exhaust Yeah... BTW What Is Intake/Exhaust Torque Spec? Quote Link to comment
