mobilejoe
that's what i had. two sets of injectors, one mass air sensor, and it would all ways idle rough or just shut off when it felt like it. that's within a 3 month time table (just bought this truck) and then i find the wire harness problems and switched to a 1992 harness because that's what i could find. and that's why i'm doing a mpfi on the z24 but at the point i have gone back though the system. useing the fsm i have tested all the sensors, voltage, ohms etc etc. it all reads good! i have used a matching 240sx ecu and sensors and maf, throttle body and I get the same thing I even put a second inline efi fuel pump just to try it and that did not help. I have 39 psi at idle pulled the injectors and had them checked and there fine. I even pulled the intake back off to make sure i did not screw anything up, it was fine so that this point i'm left scratching my head wondering how to fix this thing Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Just put a carb on it. Buy a brand new weber for $400 so you know it is not worn out. Quote Link to comment
mobilejoe
that's what i'm thinking but damn i have never found anything that i could not fix. I would like to know! Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
The reason what you have runs too rich now is you are using parts that are not calibrated for that ECU. To make it run less rich, you can unplug the O2 sensor and lower the fuel pressure. That works with some but not all ECUs. Quote Link to comment
mobilejoe
what about when i used the 240 stuff I mean i used even the temp sensors, ma,f throttlebody, tps sensor, o2, computer, harness, etc etc and it made to difference i had the same lopey idle and really rich that was a matched setup from the same car Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
You have stumped me. Quote Link to comment
mobilejoe
What I'm thinking is it has to be something in the motor. The stock efi system had a rough idle and sometimes go rich I'm just wondering if swapping the efi out to the new system made it show up more? At this point i'm thinking time for a motor swap ka24 or l20 ??? I guess it will come down to what I can find complete Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Don't do a six-cylinder swap. Quote Link to comment
mobilejoe
ok i won't any idea's i know ka24 would be easy but what would last and be reliable and maybe have a little cool factor?? Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
KA24 will last and be reliable and have a little cool factor. Just keep it stock. Quote Link to comment
mobilejoe
where's the fun in keeping it stock? Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
The fun is driving is every day without breakdowns, yet having a ton more power than the stock Z24. Wait till you rev up that KA24DE! Quote Link to comment
mobilejoe
yea I wish my local yards don't have a complete setup (they pulled motors and cut the harness) The one yard wants 900 for a bare ka24e !! but the really good yard (i like them alot they are great to deal with) This is what he has: 93 pathfinder vg30e 98 pathfinder vg33e (not complete needs alt,ps, brackets, ect) 94 maxima vg30e 85 300zx with a bad motor but complete car The only 2wd oil pan/pickup he has is from a 86 3.0 d21, will that fit the 93,98,maxima?? what would your pick be? and will the vg33 run with the vg30 computer, sensors etc... thanks Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Sound like you are changing topic away from MPFI on a Z24, so why not start a new topic? Ratsun has a lot of answer on which engine to swap . Quote Link to comment

_chiefjt
So your not planning on finishing it. I would've wanted to see the end results. Is it too much of a hassle cause I want to do the same thing. Quote Link to comment
mobilejoe
The system works my problem was a blown headgasket, cracked block, and a warped head. The truck had to much rust and needed to much money and time. But yes it works. Also there is nistune which will allow you to fine tune it out. This will give you alot of info: http://www.infamousnissan.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21987&highlight=z24+swap Quote Link to comment
