ggzilla
Do those injectors work with that ECU? Quote Link to comment
mobilejoe
they have the same ohm reading as the ka24e I do have a set of ka24 injectors for testing and no fire from them. also the ka24 will not work in the intake Quote Link to comment
mobilejoe
thank you ggzilla I found the problem. I went out and hooked up a nissan alitima ka24e injector and it fires so you are right the 280 injectors will not work. now what i need a top feed injector that will work the 83 280 injectors look like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/75-76-77-78-79-80-81-82-83-Datsun-280Z-Fuel-Injectors-/150827663676?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item231e07813c&vxp=mtr i'm open to all idea's thanks Quote Link to comment
mobilejoe
i have fuel injectors firing. yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 the 280z injectors (low impedance) the computer needs a high impedance injector so after looking at the local jy and not really finding any thing that would work with out a custom fuel rail i found a resistor box from a Mitsubishi (some honda's have them as well) and the injectors work!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do have to give credit to a couple of guys at infamous nissan for there help here. but thanks to you all as well now on finishing this thing Quote Link to comment
mobilejoe
got to run it's not right but it starts so the work goes on Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Or you could use the Nissan dropping resistor pack. Good to hear it is working! Quote Link to comment
mobilejoe
what year and make does the Nissan dropping resistor pack come from??? Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Lotta nissans have them. Sentra, 280Z, etc That photo is of a 200SX resistor pack, a 1981 if i recall correctly Quote Link to comment
mobilejoe
here is what I have done so far: pull the injectors and all four do fire. tried two mass air flow meters tried 2 fuel pressure regulators stock ka24e and 200sx 1983 I have spark on both sides I have tried with just the one side and on both the system: 4) 280/200 injectors 270cc ka24e mass air meter 92 stanza computer (ka24e) 92 d21 ka24e harness 95 altima throttle body (ka24de) the vacuum ports are brake booster fuel regulator pcv valve problem: won't run if I remove the vacuum hose (leave it open) it will run but like crap helppppppppppppppppppppppppppp Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Sounds like the fuel pressure is incorrect. How many PSI does your gauge show with key ON engine OFF? Quote Link to comment
mobilejoe
i'm using the stock 83 200sx fuel pressure I also tried a 95 alitmia ka24 fuel pressure do you think a aftermarket would be better? Quote Link to comment
mobilejoe
got to run first was a bad injector that fixed the really rough running second change throttle body to a geo strom with idle air stuff on it and now it runs a little rough but not to bad but it runs!!!!!! Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Nice progress. What is the pressure of the fuel system now? You measure it with a fuel pressure gauge. It can be adjusted. Quote Link to comment
mobilejoe
I'm thinking my problem is a mismatched maf I'm using the stock 200sx fuel regulator so it should be 34 -44 does anyone know if there is a cross reference list for nissan maf??? Quote Link to comment
mobilejoe
ok problem was a mismatched maf I got tried of trying to find the right one, soooo I went old school I found a air flow meter (afm) wired it in and it fires right up Now I can adjust the gear and go richer or leaner The best of both worlds!! mobilejoe
Here's a link to a guide for this swap, I'm going to add info about afm soon to http://www.infamousnissan.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21987 Quote Link to comment
Sealik
ok problem was a mismatched maf I got tried of trying to find the right one, soooo I went old school I found a air flow meter (afm) wired it in and it fires right up Now I can adjust the gear and go richer or leaner The best of both worlds!! I marked the stock position with a felt pen, then rotated the 'clock' about 10 positions (?) CCW...... less tension/richer mixture. When you back that phillips screw out to adjust......hold on to that wheel.....you don't want it to unwind I also repositioned that arm...gave it a new sweeping pattern/path on the 'elec board' Quote Link to comment
mobilejoe
thank u for the info Quote Link to comment
mobilejoe
ok I need help please. What I have is a very very rich running motor and lopey the 4 exhaust plugs are black as black the 4 intake is gray black I have tried: several maf sensors I went with a air flow meter and it helped but did not fix it different computers 90-95 cars/trucks no change 1.6/ 2.0/ 2.4 motor i only have 2 vacuum hoses one for brake booster and fuel pressure regulator (unhooked all the rest to find this problem) using a stock 83 200sx fuel pressure regulator (39 psi) and also tried a universal regulator (tried 15 to 60 psi and no change) no cat installed came that way tried 2 different nissan throttle body/tps sensor right now i'm running a geo throttle body and it helped but still did not fix it two nissan o2 sensors and also tried a 4 wire one it made no differences any ideas????????? This has to be the first time that I can't figure out a problem and it's driving me nutssssss Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Buy some more parts and swap them in and out till it runs great. Or, adjust the airflow meter. You are doing something that very few have done by mixing and matching parts to that extent. Quote Link to comment
mobilejoe
I have adjusted the afm at one point I had no tension left in the spring. And your right I have mismatched at this point I'm just trying to found this problem. Quote Link to comment
mobilejoe
what's nice is my local junk yard is letting me swap parts around and I don't have to pay until I come up with a final parts list. which is nice of them. So that's why I tried so many different parts Quote Link to comment
mobilejoe
thank u I all out of ideas though I need this truck to run it's a daily driver and it's a pain in the as? that I can't use it. Will a front wheel drive ka24 motor work in a d21 with a 240sx intake swap? I know that there's also 2 l28 motors down there would that bolt in? thanks Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Daily driver? I would use a Z24 EFI system. It is central throttle body injection, but is a matched set and works great. For a daily, you can't beat stock. Quote Link to comment
