satcat808
Hey guys, Been keeping this build on the down low but was excited to post pics once the body work was done and paint almost finished. Hope you guys enjoy this.... I want to thank Wayno for all his help and advice and hook ups of parts (Windshield, molding, etc...) Found this beauty in sunny California. Thought it was a solid Datsun but ended up being pretty bad can we say swish cheese!!! Lots of $$$, hours, and Blood Sweat and Tears Before!!! After!!! Before!!! After!!! Before!!! After!!! ryknot
Nice work! what color is it gonna be? Quote Link to comment
wayno
It's looking real good, looks like there was a lot hidden under bondo and paint, you had to replace the rockers also, didn't you. Where did you get your replacement panels/metal? Some of that looked very difficult to even replace, looks like the original color might have been light blue, what color is it going to be now? How many 320 hubcaps you have, as I see a VW one in the before photos. I have always thought that the box skirt would look better with it dropped down to the cab skirt/rocker level like in the photo below, but the rear skirt would also need ajusting to make it look proper. Yeah Wayne alot of hidden treasures were found. I had a Fabricator to all the metal work for me he was AWESOME!!! You are correct Rockers were completely shot as well. Here is the new color scheme... Hope you all like it!!!! Quote Link to comment
satcat808
I choose a two tone paint scheme with Teal on the Bottom and Black on the top.... Let me know what you guys think.... The colors turned out great it varies in color based on lighting.... Now for the interior and re-chroming of all the metal pieces..... Clear Coat, West Sand & BAM!!!!! Buff and Polish Check out this shine on the hood ....just like a mirror Interior and Final assembly next.... Quote Link to comment

If I were to guess, I would say they were all modified, except for NL and U type models. BTW, the truck looks awesome. Quote Link to comment
wayno
These photos were sent to me by AZhitman quite a while ago, enjoy. This one below is not one of my top 40 color schemes, if he paints his NL this color, he's going to get a lot of shit. I didn't paint the top of my cab the same color as the bottom, mine is just red on top, and black on the bottom, black is a tough color, everything has to be perfect for it to look right. wayno
I forgot to say, it was smart of you to have the paint border in the front between the headlights and the hood angle down with that body line, I have seen it both ways, I think it looks weird with the differant color above the hood trim piece, that one inch strip, I had mine done level first, but had it re-painted right away. It's just better with the hood all one color. Quote Link to comment

rkldesign
Your truck looks nice! How did the windshield crack? How did you go about doing the headliner? Did you have a template for the correct size? Did you use masonite board? Could you provide a paper template for my headliner redo? Thanks, Looking forward to more photos. Looks like when they installed it, it might have had a small chip in the bottom. The head line was custom done. I'll check with the shop on how the did it and if they have a template and get back to you. Thanks Dean Quote Link to comment

Chroming wasn't bad at all to chrome 27 pieces was only $725.00 in Hawaii I think i would have paid 10x as much..... Quote Link to comment
twiztedintentions
Wow I paid a lot more than that but I also had the shop do a lot of metal work a lot of time went into my grille... Quote Link to comment
