a2lowvw
little timeline in pics of my jetta build.... so after owning the car for a little over a year i decided to swap the motor and change some things with the car. sourced an old z-engineering supercharger (11 psi), bought a megasquirt kit and a peloquin differential. checked with some friends and found a low mileage 2.0l 8v aba engine code and picked up a spare tranny. this is how the car looked before, you will see that exterior has remained the same for the most part. this is how it started and the work really begins Quote Link to comment
a2lowvw
and the transmission and engine are mated test fit the motor to make sure it will all filt how i hope it will sit all said and done with no motor the front bagyard bomber struts show up and in they go long time passes without any major work being done cause i have a baby girl in the process get motivated and do some trunk work take a week of vacation and here it goes. (btw i have never used a real paint gun before ...) Quote Link to comment
a2lowvw
10mm craftsman socket someone is getting older get my buddy brendon (rallyetuned) to come pull an all nighter and we get the car running in time for waterwerks in tacoma wa. we do a 10 min road tune, replace a rubbed through rear airline and and i head to tacoma @ 80 miles each way with no hood, insurance or current tabs. the car fired up for the first time at about 2 am and we had to get the dash and interior back into the car for the trip. Made the round trip with no tickets and no issues. Quote Link to comment

a2lowvw
meet up with the real world jesus aka sam dobbins for a photoshoot i trade a friend and acquire some new winter wheels and thats pretty much how she sits in the garage right now, i am working on a audio setup and keeping it kinda oldschool with an older nakamichi headunit, xtant amplifier and some focal mids Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
I love Jetta coupes. Putting a 16v head on the ABA? So why do you have the early mk2 golf grill/headlights on it? Only thing I would change about the car if it was mine. Quote Link to comment
Ken_B
This is beatiful! Keep up the excellent work!! Quote Link to comment
a2lowvw
the car came with westy's on it and they seem to fit the style/look of the car with small bumpers and no flares. lighting output is decent with the h4 lamps and ddm tuning hid's as for motor, it will either get a turbo or replaced for a 1.8t engine. I have a 2.0t tsi motor but would need mk4/5/6 motor mounts welded into the frame rails and i am not willing to mess up the fresh paint to swap the motor so soon. after all the welding, grinding and then sanding the last thing i want to do is more bodywork on it Quote Link to comment
Tristin
Looks good. My buddy just pulled a 2.8L VR6 engine out of his 2001 Jetta. You should boost that one... You should also try to fab up some pop-out rear windows. Ive seen them on a few VWs (I think Golfs?) and they look sick. Thanks for sharing your other project. Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
I say boo on the 1.8t, wickedly bad motor. 2.0t may be the best thing since sliced bread in VW's lineup. Quote Link to comment
521chowda
Aaaah! Motor envy! Quote Link to comment

Tristin
Every time this pops up, I want a MKI Jetta. I wish there were coupes available in this area... I could use another car so that I could do some major work on the Datto. 1 Quote Link to comment
