ohmrchristopher
Hello guys, I have been lurking for a few weeks and trying to get my hands on a Datsun for some time now. Well I am slowly getting there and I have heard that the truck I am after is a Ratsun favorite. http://seattle.craigslist.org/kit/cto/2854046658.html I just would like some info from you guys about this truck, Its caught my eye for some time and I actually thought I lost it when it poped back up for sale again. Anything would be appreciated and I am looking forward to becoming a Datsun owner. Quote Link to comment
wildmaninid
A drift truck? With a naturally aspirated l-16? I would love to see such drifting. If they truly did drify/try to drift I would require them to drop a zero off the end of the price tag. 1 Quote Link to comment

Dat Lurka
It might drift in gravel. I'd go check it out and give a grand for it depending..... Quote Link to comment
ohmrchristopher
ignor the title, i know its not a drift truck and thats not my plan. I saw it for sale first in Olalla, it disappeared and then popped back up for sale is Kitsap. Im just asking if anyone knows the old owners as there was what looked like a once RATSUN.NET sticker on the left lower corner of the hood Quote Link to comment
Dat Lurka
There's pics of it on here somewhere. Probably a build thread. Quote Link to comment
DISLEXICDIME
i dig it but not for 2500 and a welded diff on a 620 sounds scarey. In my experience an l16 don't make a good power plant for drifting Quote Link to comment

wildmaninid
Looks like a solid 620. The welded diff? Not my style. I think it might be fun to play around in gravel/dirt with but any real life driving would be a pain in the ass. That is a solid $1000 truck as she sits. $2500 is a pipe dream. Quote Link to comment

Oops sorry, forgot to mention thats the only other info I have dug up. Thanks for that post though! He just welded the diff last week, a day before i went to see it. not my first idea either but, oh well. Also, because I have no idea what I am up to, I kinda all ready agreed to that price, however 1) its the look I want w/o doing any work. 2) I have shit all for options in Canada, and its pretty close to me. That's too much for the truck IMO but hey our money your call. Don't forget you got to find a rear end for it also. Quote Link to comment
Tristin
You never agree on a price until you see it! Quote Link to comment

Tristin
Ever heard of a Detroit Locker?- basically a welded diff... just a bit more legit though Quote Link to comment
ohmrchristopher
You never agree on a price until you see it! I did see it, I drove to Seattle to see it and loved it. I just dont know what I was getting into, and various CL searches show that 620 were going from $400 for not running POS to $4000-$5000 for show trucks. the $2000-$3000 range was what I was looking at and this one is the closest to me. I've never seen a 4-5000$ datsun 620 show truck. But I can tell you that the yellow rat you want to get is not a 2000$ truck. The only datsun I would pay 3k$~ for is a pristine 710 Wagon. Just saying it would be foolish to pay that much and you may want a rear end in the future Also, you will want a parts truck, or three . Once datto gets in your veins it's over. Then BAM all of a sudden you're playing tetris to mow your yard! someone better get that 1 Quote Link to comment

Tristin
Dont take it personally man. Everyone makes mistakes... especially their first car in a new category they are not used to dealing with. It happens. If you think youre going to be happy with the amount of money youre spending, then thats all the matters. Makes sure its not a complete waste of money, pick it up, and enjoy it. Make sure you post a build thread and keep us up to date with all the mods. And make sure you post tons and tons of oics! Welcome to Ratsun. 2 Quote Link to comment
