I've read a ton of posts and threads but...620 lowering.

Saying 50 or 60 series does little to help.

 

A 50 series tire equates to the sidewall being 50% of the width.

Fitment will be different between a 195/50 to a 265/50.

You're over thinking this.

It's a simple process, with simple results.

 

Also,

Don't reference 521's to lower your 620.

 

Us 521 guys wish our trucks could go as low as 620's can.

The Only Problem You Will Have With Lowering A 620 Is That The Exhaust Is An Inch Off The Pavement <_<

 

Mines Almost 5' Up Front.. Rides Good And I Still Have Stock Shocks

Gonna Get KYBs To Get It To Ride Like The Back Does :P

But I'm Also Running 225/75 :mellow:

Derp i meant 205/50 or 205/60

 

I referenced the 521 because it has the stance that I am after...though i know the process in achieving that stance between trucks is probably different, it shows a good idea on the measurement from ground, wheel well, etc.

 

Im thinking blocks tomorrow... 4x4 leafs when i find them?

Look closely at that 521 though.

It is not very low at all. Those fender flares are hiding a lot of gap.

 

And notice...

All these guys with 5" drops hate them.

Simple...don't drop 5".

 

Go 3".

See if you want more.

 

I would say 205/60r15 is the way to go.

It will help to keep some bounce in your step and fill the arches at the same time.

Exactly what i saw on tire and wheel gap on the 521 ... looks good though

 

205/6015 is a great looking width and function!

Dude I said from the start that i'm not slamming this truck or tucking or doing any of that crap, because my truck is a truck, i cant drive anywhere if i'm scraping, especially with a load in the bed.

 

205/60s are where I am leaning.

I'm thinking im getting 3 in blocks in the morning, putting them on, then tackling the torsions, i'm also going to be putting on my rims and tires from my 78 because they're wider and look better.. even if there is only 3 that match

I can say I love the how my truck is. I just need to do the shock mounts and it will be perfect. but I can say it was a nuisance with the 3 inch blocks and 4x4 leafs. and I do still use it as a truck. If I put about 350lbs plus in it now the axle will hit on bumps but normally I'm not going all that far to have to worry. If I thought I would go lower I would c-notch the frame but for now its good

What are you hauling exactly ?

 

If you haul v8 cast iron engines, cast iron stoves , sheet rock , bricks, gravel, etc ... like i use to in my old ranger you might not want to lower ... :lol:

Buy some K5 Blazer wheels for way cheaper.

Spending $65 x4 to run a trailer wheel is ridiculous.

 

Seriously though...

3" blocks, shims, nice shocks, and an hour to index your torsion bars equals happy Datsun owner.

 

Its a bit on the expensive side, but the only rims you can find around here for sale are either rusty old pieces of shit or 24 inch chrome spinners

 

I actually like the look, and i think they would look great on my truck once it's painted an oxidized red.

 

Blocks-check, i cant fuck up buying those.

Shims- uncertain of how to use them...what they look like...where to get them.. etc... as ive never lowered anything before....i mean i know what a shim is, i was a carpenter years before i started wrenching..but yeah..

Indexing the torsion bars still confuses me, since i was shown two different things that were supposedly the same thing.. it didnt make any sense.

 

Shocks- Do i switch the kind of vehicle as was suggested earlier, or...?

I bought my blocks and shims at Vato-Zone.

I want to say $35?

 

They sit on top of block.

 

Shocks...

I love KYB Gas-A-Just.

Cheap. Quality.

Lots of other guys here say they're golden.

620 shocks for the rear.

Pinto shocks for the front.

You can find 'em on eBay all day @ $40 for 2.

 

Wheels...

Your call. Your truck.

I think you can get so much more wheel for less money.

Just sayin.

Rusty wheels come clean with a sand blaster.
