Painted Engine Bay

Remember that no 510 had clear coat paint. That was something that came along much later.

 

You don't need a clear coat to keep it clean. If you spray it with cleaner ocassionally it will stay nice.

Watch out for what kind of cleaner you use with what paint. Brake cleaners and other stuff will badly damage some paints.

For sure. Don't use brake cleaner on your paint.

White engine bay looks good when clean. Big hunk of plastic looks weak, but I suspect there's some good metal under it.

A black engine bay on a white car wouldn't work too well.

I took the easy route because at the time, I couldn't find the exact same green my 510 was. Therefore, I just painted it black.

Just shot my bay.  Body color.  I'm considering blacking out the frame rails on the bottom edge.  Considering...   I did have it that way before.
