I used to run a small cable thru the door jam and into my fenderwell and secure it to something. go scavenge a shift cable off a bicycle and your good to go

They make a nice cable kit specifically for this issue.

I was just going to say the same thing, this is what we use to do back in the day when we had no money for those popper kits. You just had to be a bit sneeky and careful to who saw ya...lol. But opper kits are pretty inexpensive these days...

i perfer a key fob, who wants to be digging around in a wheel well or some other area in the rain, the other option is this http://www.autoloc.com/catalog/UltraTouch-Invisible-Switch-System/UltraTouch-Invisible-Switch-System

I was suggesting the hidden cable as a backup to a keyfob remove to activate the solenoids.

On my 2 door wagon, I plan to install solenoids and poppers. I don't need a hidden cable as I am keeping the hatch lock. If for some reason (Dead Battery) the solenoids stop working, I will crawl through the hatch and open the door. On a sedan you will need a backup cable.
