Our leaky trucks...

I have a water leak on the passenger side of my 85 2wd 720 reg cab. My cousin also has the same leak on her 82 4wd 720 king cab and her 83 2wd 720 reg cab. Uncle has the same leak on his mid-70's 2wd 620 reg cab. I know it's not coolant, and its not coming in from the windshield. I've done some research on this and figured out that it is coming in from inside the cowl. Some are saying there should be some sort of weater stripping on the cowl, and others say it's from a plugged drain tube that leaks from the cowl to under the truck. My question lies in where is this drain tube located (cowl side and under vehicle, if there is one). I've cleaned out 98% of my cowl (hands only fit so far) and looked and looked but can't seem to find one. I also read that one of us, *cough* PCD *cough*, tried sealing up the air intake box where it enters the cowl with silicone (no idea if this fixed it or not). This water leak is driving us nuts cause we (or at least I) want to drive them again. Any and all help is appricated, pics are always a plus  .

This is where the cold air intake for the heater enters the fan. It's behind and above the glove box. The air is drawn from the cowl area in front of the windshield. On either side of the cowl are drain holes that empty into the front wheel wells. It's only natural that pine needles, leaves and maple keys will plug these or restrict them and rain water will collect. Turns can slosh the puddle into the cold air inlet or leaves covering it can wick wetness in.

Remove the wiper arms and lift hood to get at the screws holding the cowl cover on and vacuum the crap out or pull out by hand this time of year.

If this isn't the problem the windshield rubber seal may be the problem.

I figured out where mine is coming in from! It appears to be a failed body seam from the cabin air intake in the cowl. It would leak through there, through the shotty foam "gasket" for the blower motor, and drain off the back of the blower motor. I'm going to try and seal it tomorrow and take pictures as I go.
