datzenmike
Yeah I have a US and Canadian 710 and it's as you say just numbers to the right on the dash and engine tags. And yes I forgot the B in the B310. Quote Link to comment
Zfighter76
The VIN doesn't list the engine number. The only A-series w/o the stamped number I've heard of some commercial units. my shop teacher did say they used these engines on forklifts sometimes, is it possible that they could be forklift motors? ggzilla
Yes it is possible. Or pump motors, or carpet cleaning motors, etc. If it makes little power above 4,000 RPM, it's likely to have the industrial camshaft in it. Quote Link to comment
Zfighter76
but the basic engine besides that would be the same? what rpm should the power be made at on a stock a series? (what little power there is anyways haha) Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
A14 has plenty of power. Stock motor is either 1500-6000 RPM or 1500-5000 RPM. The 5-speed motors were built for lower RPM power and were 65 HP. The other A14s were 80 HP. Quote Link to comment
Zfighter76
and a12s are pretty lame then? in a gutted 210 would a built a12 get it goin pretty good? like with an auckland stage 8 cam and all the other components needed to compliment that(carbs, valve springs, ei dizzy etc?) ggzilla
No, 1200cc will not make it very fast. A stock A14 will accelerate faster than thousands worth of add-ons to the A12. And however you can modify the A12, you can do the same to the A14 and gain even more. On the other hand the A12 is a great little engine. Very flexible, 38 MPG w/o overdrive, revs all day and lasts a long time. Quote Link to comment
