P0werPlentySR20
id like to know if all the r180 gears are interchangeabe. for example can i take the 4:11 gears from a 240z diff and swap them into a 06 STI diff? both are r180s Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Should I think. The bolt size that holds the crown might have changed like 10mm to 11mm? Quote Link to comment
Skib
double check axle spline counts. Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
No. For one thing, ring gears changed size. In/at/during/after '76 the inner diameter of the R180 ring gear was changed from 110mm to 115mm Quote Link to comment
P0werPlentySR20
so maybe you guys can help me. i have a 06 STI R180 with a gearing of 3.54. the diff will be used for drifting so id like something closer to a 3.9 or 4.1 any ideas? Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
is this a Viscous type diff? dont you want a clutchpack type? Be honest ask someone on the 510 realm as this will need major mods that will bankrupt most ratsuners.Including me. By the time your done it will be over 1200$ Brutepower had some center diffs to install in R180 but I think Icehouse and Byron510 got the last 2 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
the diff will be used for drifting If this is a dedicated build strictly for drifting and not ever on the street just weld it up. If a daily driver get a clutch LSD. Quote Link to comment
