160 Thou Lash Pads for an L-series anyone?

I have bags of L series lash pads. but no way of messuring them

Yes...there are getting few and far between.

I recently got a 180 set from Motorsports....and the last 190 set I believe.

Nice to have backup....larger pads can always be ground down....not up :D

 

You did a wipe pattern on the cam/rockers after the ...."Very short break in"...?

My L20b "Black Magic" project motor has been in the works for quite a while now. Gettin.....ya know- "the works" - 100% old school hot rod trix - (cuz I love surprising SR swappers with what appears to be an antique)

You do the wipe pattern ck?

 

try Isky or the nissan dealer with the part number OR order it or try nissanparts.cc and HOPE you get lucky(sealick had a bad experience)

 

You have bigger retainers for these .160s or just stock ones

If the wipe pattern is just catching the side of the rocker with the 150 pad?????..it will take more than a 160 to center

10 thousands doesn't move it a lot

 

I assume the pattern is closet to the pivot side of the rocker....not the valve side?

 

I grinded 1 150 pad down to 140... With my belt sander, .... :blink:

Would not like to do a full set.....by hand that is

Was a bitch to hold onto.... :D

 

You can calculate the exact size of pad needed..just cut up a .010 feeler gauge into small pieces and keep sticking them under your 150(?) until the pattern is centered.

You can't get those pads from Nissan? I got a set of .160 lash pads from http://www.thezstore.com/ when I built the motor for the 510. Had no problem getting them, but that was 3 years ago.
