Hey guys, so im looking at a 75 620, and before i do, I would like to know the value of it so I dont pay too much

heres some info:

1975 620 4 cyl L20b (says it has 57k on it, might be 157k tho, but i dont care as long as it runs good.)

4 speed manual.

newer brakes

newer fuel lines

driver side floor panel needs to replaced (no big deal i can do auto body, in college for auto body as well actually, so rust doesnt matter.)

needs a Driveshaft Centre Bearing OR a trans mount, either part ive looked up and tops is $50

then it needs a new rear left blinker, $40 tops

needs new windshield $200 from local glass shop

heres some pics: (i didnt img code them because they may be a bit too big)

My 1975 620 LongBed was in similar shape, however the oics provided seem to have a little more rust than mine.

For what it's worth, I paid $800 (in CO.). I'm sure it depends on the 'market'. I've lived out on the west coast and every Datsun (regardless of model) seems to go $500-$1,000 more than anywhere else. I had original owner mint 71' 2dr 510 with 83k in Florida for sale for 6 months and let it go for $3,100 (dumb and dumb x5). Being in MI helps your cause, but I'd start at $650-700 (hell, just like my dad told me once you can always go up). But good luck saying; "would ya take $1,000, nah how bout' $739". Just my 2¢ rant. :P

Take a good look at the clutch and brake peddles... see the metal peeking out? Those have been around the block a few times. Also check the varnish worn off the shift knob.

Looks like it was rust proofed in the rocker panels (black plug) but it didn't save the floor.

Is that dash crack free? How much wear is on the pedals and how does it drive? Is the front end mushy/squirrely? That interior will clean up *very* nice. ...Im not a fan of the steering wheel at all though.

Id start the bartering at 500 (tell him to keep the wheel...) and see what he says. I wouldnt go over 800 because; theres rust, the engine compartment looks like shit (regardless how it runs) the wheels are nothing special (I dig the stockers) and its a 4 speed... That said, if the dash is cherry it is worth a signifcant chunk of change in itself. How are the brakes and electrical?

I have a friend here who bought a 79 620 from some one, and the floors didn't look anywhere near as bad as that, BUT...

when we started taking things apart, we found that the cross members under the truck were non-existent.

Rust had eaten thru so much of the frame.

The only thing holding the frame together had to have been the brake lines.

I know what I would think of that truck, but I don't know the scarcity of Datsuns in MI.

You never mentioned how much owner is asking of the thing.

I know you said you're comfortable with the rust-but I have a feeling this thing is gonna test you every step you take.

I'd suggest getting really intimate with every inch of that truck before making an offer.

Oh yea, definately. in the past year ive only found 3 620's in MI. One, the owner decided to keep (suspect on here i think), a dually flatbed i had my dad look at last week(turns out that it needed a new carb and it was pretty 'doggy'), and this one and he WANTS 1200 so I dunno. The truck was parked in storage for a few years and he hasn't touched it. but he said brakes, electrical, etc are fine (my dads checking it out tonight) and yes, dash looks crack free, and i hate the steering wheel too but that's not a big deal at all

I have a 77 KC 620 I'm consifering selling. Its a far better truck than that. I'm also in michigan.

I need the doors off it for my 74 but I will swap over a decent set of doors. It has a L20b with a 4 speed, new clutch kit, new clutch slave, new clutch master, new brake master, new center bearing on drive shaft, and a bunch more. The bad parts of the body is the rocker panels, cab corners and a fender. The motor runs good, has a valve guide that has dropped and it makes a clicking sound. I could swap in a 1.8L motor if you don't want the L20b.

Id let it go for $750 after I trade the doors. Just something to think about if you really want a 620. You can come and look it over and if down the road you want it, it should still be here. Its not advertized for sale.
