ehime
So I've heard about the horrors of 1970's wiring jobs, and stumbled across more than on user who has burnt their car down because of ~40yr old wiring. I had the idea today to possible create an entirely wiring setup for my wagon. I do not have blueprints, I do not have technical wiring experience, and I do not know what gauges or colors I should use to keep things segregated (You CAN buy multicolor wire, right?) Info would be appr so I don't kill myself and others. Thanks guys, -jd Quote Link to comment

zerow
I'm running mine as-is. Stock wiring. The upgrades should be made at the ends...i.e. lights, fixtures, etc. Its those parts that are exposed to the elements, and not the wiring. I am meticulously cleaning each connector with contact cleaner and a little 320 grit sandpaper. I checked each wire for full continuity and against the ground for any shorts. Nothing found yet that warrants a complete re-wire... Just my 2 cents... Quote Link to comment
elmerfudpucker
That is one of the reasons I went with a full LED conversion on the truck. Quote Link to comment
