Suspect Posted May 7, 2011 Report Share Posted May 7, 2011 I was debating on taking my 63 Meteor Wagon to the Hartford Motor Speedway for spectator drags. This speedway is the largest dirt oval in Michigan. After I decided to do it, I had to figure out if they would even let me run the car since it didn't have seatbelts. Well I had to have belts. I got off work at 5pm, drove 25 miles home, switched vehicles, gassed the old mercury up, drove 35 miles to my dads, robbed seatbelts out of my datsun, drove another 25 miles to the speedway and made it there by 8pm. The rules are, no test runs, race what you bring, one lap drag race, first one to the line gets to advance to race someone els. Well I got robbed because they put me up against a 2007ish Chevy 4wd truck and I lost. But over all it was a blast, and calculating winners and losers, I placed 3rd out of 6. A ford Taurus SHO won. Suspect Posted May 7, 2011 Author Report Share Posted May 7, 2011 They race every weekend but the spectator racing is a special even that happens a few times a year... there is also burnout contest. I didn't lose any parts, this cars is actually my daily driver. Its rusty but fun to drive, it looks alot better than it really is. The rattly noise is because when I did the rear shocks, I didn't bolt down any of the floor steel covers under the rear seat and it rubs against where you bolt it down too making horrible squeaks.... Suspect Posted May 8, 2011 Author Report Share Posted May 8, 2011 I'm wanting to build a pure stock car. I have a friend that wants to do the same but we both don't have the funding to do so. I have a couple candidates, 82 Regal 2 door and a 75 cutlass 2 door. I only have one drive train, 403 olds bolted to turbo 375. Quote Link to comment

Even after the race he said "well you didn't wreck it, want to sell it yet?" Quote Link to comment
