Guest DatsuNoob
Go here and buy new shit. Their prices are fair compared to a hardware store http://maps.google.com/maps/place?rls=GGLR,GGLR:2006-33,GGLR:en&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=METAL+SUPERMARKETS+Oregon&fb=1&gl=us&hq=METAL+SUPERMARKETS&hnear=Oregon&cid=12874577651819822997 Link to comment

DanielC
I have bought steel here: http://www.macraesbluebook.com/search/company.cfm?company=1014881 They sell new, and also have a yard with used steel, that you can wander through and find used steel, and you just buy the steel by the weight. MikeRL411
If the patches are small enough and you can weld on galvanized steel buy tin snips and a small oil drip pan then cut your own patches. Link to comment
DanielC
Welding Galvanized metal gives off some pretty nasty fumes. I would not recommend it. Link to comment
Guest DatsuNoob
meh, if you sand it off around the edges(galvanized coating), weld outside, and dont have a big yob to do it aint enough to kill ya. I welded ALOT of galvanized metal fence post for an apt complex I used to work at. I dont reccomend doing it alot, but I ran a fan and tried to clean it up as much as I could and it wasnt too bad.
